Over the last few days I have had three cases of either broken or lost van keys. I’m talking here about the loss or breakage of the only keys the customer had! Have you considered how inconvenient that can be? In each case these were commercial vans, but it can equally apply to cars.
So, you are 200 or so miles from home standing in the rain with the head of the key in your hand and the bit that operates in the lock stuck in the car ignition. You van is loaded with a delivery that needs to be made that day and you have no spare and are not a member of a motor recovery organization such as the AA or RAC. What do you do? Do you know what the key code  is for your key?
Do you know what the pin number is for your car immobiliser?
